It is the slimmest laptop available in the market today. This was announced by the marketing lead of product group of consumer marketing of Lenovo, Michael Littler. The U300S IdeaPad holds a thickness of 0.59 inch which is about 1.49 centimeters. Its weight is also around 2.2 pounds or 0.99 kilograms. The MacBook Air is thirteen inch in size and is 0.68 inches thick. It also weighs around 2.96 pounds.
The IdeaPad U300S is provided to the customers along with a selection of less power Intel processors. It gives the user a battery life that lasts up to eight hours during its active usage. This also includes the thirty hours of standby function. The initial rate of this slimmest IdeaPad is around one thousand two hundred US dollars.
The company is starting the shipping of this laptop pretty soon after it’s ordering procedure. Lenovo’s Ultrabook has already made a name in the market for itself for being a new class of light and thin laptops that are promoted by Intel. It has been considered that Intel has adopted this method for reviving the interest of people in laptops.
This is because the sales figures of laptops have decreased because of the high popularity of tablets and the iPad from Apple. The U300S IdeaPad works on the Intel Core processor that is of low power. This is particularly created on the basis of the micro architecture technique by Sandy Bridge. This also included the Core i7 2677M that works at 1.8 GHz and holds a cache of 4MB. Another option involved is the Core i5 2467M which works at 1.6 GHz along with cache of 3MB. The options for storage involve solid state drives that have a capacity of around 256 GB.
The Ultrabook laptops are getting more appreciated for being just like tablets. Intel has observed that with instant on factors and touch enabled screens. This IdeaPad laptop can fold back or slide out on the keyboard for resembling a tablet.
The Ultrabook of Lenovo is getting appreciated. Hence, the company has planned to make an investment of three hundred million US dollars in companies that are growing new technologies for Ultrabook. Lenovo is also thinking about expanding the lineup of IdeaPad along with two laptops that are ultra portable. They are based on the latest core processors of Intel.
